To use this software, click an icon on the map. Associated tide and weather information will display on the tabbed sheets to the right of the map. Click the HELP Tab for additional assistance.
NOTE: This website is sized at 950 pixels wide. This means that your screen resolution should be at least that width in order to avoid scrolling. To change the screen resolution on Windows, right-click any blank area on the desktop, then select Properties, Settings, and drag the Screen Resolution bar to the right. Click OK.
To Change Views
- Map Button: Map view with streets and highways.
- Satellite Button: Topographical view from satellite (not current)
- Hybrid Button: Topo view from satellite with main street/highway overlay.
- Zoom In/Out: Drag the slider bar (upper left side of the map) up to zoom in and down to zoom out;
click the + button at the top of the slider to zoom in;
click the – button at the bottom of the slider to zoom out.
To Move to New Location
- Click Icon: Click any icon and it will move to the center of the map.
- Drag Mouse: Drag the map view to a new location by placing the mouse over any part of the map, pressing and holding down the left mouse button, and dragging the mouse across the page.
- Click Arrow: Click any of the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of map to move the map the direction of the arrow.
To Display Location Data
Rest the mouse over any icon to see a tooltip identifying it. Click the icon to display associated weather, tide, and current information on the tabbed sheets to the right of the map. The icon will move to the center of the map when it is clicked.
- Weather Tab: The current forecast is displayed next to the map. Scroll down the web page to see a graph of the location’s high/low tides for the next 48 hours.
- Details Tab: A brief description of the selected location.
- Tides Tab: A text table of high and low tides and/or current for the next fourteen days. Scroll down the web page to see a graph of the location’s high/low tides for the next 48-hours.
- Customize Tab: Select which icons you would like to see on the map. You can choose from any or all of the six options (tide stations, current stations, put-ins, destinations, meeting places, sponsors). Note: choosing to display all the icons can create a cluttered map except when in tight zoom.
- Search Tab: Type a location into the text box and click SEARCH. The list of results will display below the text box. Click any of the results to center its associated icon toward the middle of map. The Weather, Details, and Tides tabs will now show data for the clicked result.
- Help Tab: Help information about the Info tool.
